A cabinet meeting, chaired by Prime Minister, Bishr Al-Khasawneh, on Sunday decided to postpone the implementation of phase one of the national military service program, due to the impacts of the coronavirus (Covid-19) pandemic.

On the other hand, the cabinet was briefed by Minister of Education, Tayseer Nuaimi, on measures taken by the ministry to develop the (Darsak 2) platform in order to develop the services provided to students during the remote education.

Nuaimi noted that the (Darsak 2) platform now accommodates all students and enables them to follow all subjects and lessons, in contrast to the (Darsak 1) platform, which used to offer only basic subjects.

The cabinet was also briefed by Director General of the Jordan Food and Drug Administration (JFDA), Nizar Muhaidat, on the report of the Pharmaceutical Manufacturing Committee in charge of prioritizing drug production in short and medium terms, and stimulating the private sector to invest in pharmaceutical industries, and other tasks related to enhancing the quality and efficiency of pharmaceutical industries.

The Prime Minister gave instructions to the JFDA to develop procedures and measures to reduce the prices of medicines, and define a clear mechanism for food inspection and control in order to avoid any conflict in work between supervisory and inspection entities, in a way that reflects positively on the safety of the product and thus protecting the health of the consumer.
