Jordan records 63 fatalities, 4,940 new Covid-19 cases

The Ministry of Health announced 63 fatalities and 4,940 new Covid-19 cases were recorded in the Kingdom on Friday, bringing the death toll to 2,116 , and the caseload to 174,335.

The new infections include 1,688 in Amman, 456 in Zarqa, 337 in Mafraq, 244 in Jerash, 182 in Madaba, 93 in Aqaba, 894 in Irbid, 339 in Ajloun, 330 in Karak, 202 in Balqa, 95 in Tafilah, and 80 in Ma'an.

A total of 240 cases have been admitted to the hospitals, and 217 have been discharged upon recovery.

A total of 3,554 recoveries have been recorded from hospitals and home quarantine, bringing the total amount of recoveries since the beginning of the coronavirus crisis to 103,834.

There are 2,213 patients receiving treatment in hospitals, including 447 in the Intensive Care Units.

A total of 22,814 PCR tests have been conducted, bringing the total number of tests conducted since the beginning of the crisis to 2,315,758.
