Ammon News -

The Cabinet, in its session held on October 28, has included the Aqaba Special Economic Zone Authority (ASEZA) under its decision No. (9073), to reduce customs fines.

The decision axes the fines levied on open customs declarations (under the consumption status in the ASEZA) and deems all uncleared goods, as " restricted and not prohibited" and subject to successful checks by the specialized technical authorities.

In a press statement issued on Sunday, the ASEZA's Chief Commissioner, Nayef Bakhit, said the Cabinet's decision was made to provide facilitations to the zone's investors and traders as part of a series of government steps during the Covid-19 pandemic.

Moreover, he added that the decision seeks to stimulate the national economy movement and provide all goods and basic needs to citizens.
