AMMONNEWS - The "Wefaq" parliamentary bloc named current prime minister Abdullah Ensour as its endorsement for the position of new prime minister.
Based on consultations between the Royal Hashemite Court Chief, Fayez Tarawneh, and the Lower House of Parliament, the "Wefaq" (Accord) bloc becomes the first to name its endorsement for premier to head the new "parliamentary" government.
During its meeting with Tarawneh on Thursday, the Wefaq bloc announced its desire for Ensour to remain as prime minister, who had submitted his resignation earlier in the month "to give him a chance until the beginning of the upcoming ordinary parliamentary session to evaluate the performance of his government," the bloc said.
The bloc stressed however that granting Ensour a vote of confidence will depend on the members of the cabinet he chooses and the government's political platform.
"Al-Wefaq is biased in favor of citizens and their living conditions, and is against burdening citizens with any new financial burdens," the bloc said, adding that it rejects any economic solutions that be at the expense of citizens.
The Wefaq parliamentary bloc includes 16 members of parliament, and is headed by MP Mirza Bolad.
