AMMONNEWS - The Court of Cassation on Sunday overruled a verdict by the State Security Court against three defendants charged with financing terrorist organization and committing unlawful acts.

The Cassation Court, Jordan's Supreme Court, overruled the military tribunal's ruling that sentenced Essam Al Otaibi, known as 'Abu Muhammad Al Maqdissi' and two other defendants to 2.5 to 5 years in prison.

The Cassation Court based its judgement citing discrepancy in the dates the crimes charged against the defendants, in accordance with Article 118 of the Penal Law.

The Court said that the State Security Court did not specify the dates the crimes upon which the defendants are charged were committed.

The two other defendants in the case are Eyad Qunaibi and Ayman Tawfiq Abu Al Rubb.
