Halalmeh : Realizing rule of law, consolidating security are basis of interior ministry's work

Ammon News - AMMONNEWS - Interior Minister, Tawfiq Halalmeh, said that realizing the rule of law and consolidating security and stability on every inch of the Kingdom's territory is the foundation on which the work of the Ministry and all security bodies is based on.

"No one is above the law, and whoever violates or breaks the law will be held accountable immediately in accordance with the established legal and administrative procedures," Halalmeh said in a visit he paid to the governorates of Jerash, Ajloun, Irbid and Mafraq, in addition to Jaber Borders Crossing, where he met with governors, administrative governors and the four governorates' security councils.

Halalmeh reiterated that the security campaigns targeting outlaws will continue until they achieve their goals.

The interior minister pointed out that citizens felt and will always feel impacts of the effective cooperation and the unity of the security and administrative decision on the ground between all security bodies and administrative governors.

The minister further stressed the need to implement defense orders and hold violators accountable, in order to limit the spread of the coronavirus, and maintain the health and safety of citizens by adhering to social distancing, preventing gatherings, and following the necessary health and preventive measures.

He also stressed the need to put into effect the plans prepared to deal with weather conditions and the winter season.

With regard to the upcoming parliamentary elections, Halalmeh explained that the ministry's role in the elections revolves around providing the necessary security for voters and candidates and any other requirements that the Independent Election Commission (IEC) may need to accomplish its work.

For their part, the governors, each within their own jurisdiction, briefed the minister on their daily work and tasks, whether related to security, administrative or developmental aspects, their future plans, and key challenges and needs facing them in their areas.
