Ammon News - AMMONNEWS - Prime Minister Bishr Al-Khasawneh emphasized the "deep and brotherly" relations between Jordan and Kuwait, and the common interest to further broaden cooperation in various fields.

The premier said as he welcomed Kuwaiti Foreign Minister Sheikh Ahmad Nasser Al-Sabah and an accompanying delegation that "Jordanian-Kuwaiti ties are a model for relations between nations, thanks to the interest and care of His Majesty King Abdullah II and his brother the Emir of Kuwait Sheikh Nawaf Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah."

During the meeting, which was attended by Deputy Premier and Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates Ayman Safadi and Kuwaiti Ambassador Aziz Al-Daihani, Khasawneh said that the challenges facing the Arab countries require common efforts to maximize joint Arab action and rebuild inter-Arab relations.

The Prime Minister lauded Kuwait's support of joint Arab action and its endeavor to "maximize the common denominators that unite the Arab nation at the difficult junctures it had gone through."

Khasawneh stressed the existing cooperation between Jordan and Kuwait, and Jordan's keen interest to attract more Kuwaiti investments and provide the necessary facilities to investors, pointing out that despite it impact on the various sectors, the coronavirus pandemic created opportunities for promising sectors in which the two countries can invest.

For his part, the Kuwaiti Foreign Minister affirmed the Gulf Arab state's keenness to strengthen relations with Jordan, noting that the Kuwaiti leadership, government and people appreciated the participation in person by His Majesty King Abdullah and His Royal Highness Crown Prince Hussein in offering condolences for the passing of the late Emir of Kuwait, His Highness Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah.

The Kuwaiti minister also said his country is keen on maintaining joint cooperation and consultation with Jordan on the various regional and international issues.

He thanked the Kingdom for sending aid and medicine to Kuwait at the start of the pandemic, adding that the repercussions of COVID-19 require finding sustainable solutions to its impact on the economic and other sectors. He also voiced Kuwait's interest in boosting its investments in Jordan, noting that the Kingdom is a state of law and institutions, and referring to guarantees it offers to foreign capital.
