175 new Covid-19 cases, including 171 local infections, recorded on Wednesday

Ammon News - AMMONNEWS - The Ministry of Health announced that 175 new Covid-19 cases, including 171 local infections, were recorded in the Kingdom on Wednesday, bringing the total caseload to 3,852.

Among the the new domestic cases, 96 were in the capital, Amman, 20 in Karak, 19 in Balqa, 16 in Irbid, 13 in Zarqa , 5 in Mafraq , and 2 in Madaba, according to the media statement issued by the Prime Ministry and the Ministry of Health.

Meanwhile, 4 imported cases were recorded involving arrivals coming from abroad and are now staying in quarantine hotels, added the statement.

Moreover, 38 patients have recovered-4 in Prince Hamzah Hospital, 29 in the quarantine area in the Dead Sea, 3 cases in Queen Alia Hospital, and 2 in a private hospital, announced the statement.
A total of 14,762 lab Covid-19 tests were also adminsitered on Wednesday, bringing the cumulative number of coronavirus tests to 1019085, said the ministry.

Amid the growing number of local infections, the Ministry of Health has renewed its call on the public to abide by Defence Order No.11 and adhere to precautionary measures, mainly wearing face masks, maintaining physical distancing and avoiding holding gatherings that exceed 20 people.

The ministry also highlighted the "Aman" (Safety) application for smartphones, which alerts users if they come into contact with a COVID-19 positive person, as well as "Sahtak" (your health) application, which provides users with the latest information and news related to COVID-19, in addition to guidelines and warnings pertaining to the Kingdom’s epidemiological situation.
