AMMONNEWS - Prime Minister Omar Razzaz on Monday formed a team to investigate the circumstances of a mass food poisoning incident in the Balqa governorate, northwest, where hundreds of people fell ill and two died after taking contaminated meals from local restaurants.

The team will be headed by Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research Muhyiddine Touq and will include in its membership the ministers of water and justice as well as the president of the Jordan University for Science and Technology and the vice president of the Royal Scientific Society.

Razzaz instructed the team to fully use its mandate and seek the assistance of whomever deemed key to unravel the circumstances of the incident and hold those responsible accountable before the law.

The prime minister gave the team a two-week window to complete their task.
