Four COVID-19 infections reported in Kingdom Monday

AMMONNEWS - Four COVID-19 cases were recorded in the Kingdom Monday, all of which had come from abroad, pushing the caseload in the country to 1,183, according to the Ministry of Health.

The Ministry issued a release clarifying that 3 of the newly recorded cases are for Jordanians coming from abroad, 2 from Saudi Arabia and 1 from the US, who are staying at isolation hotels.

A case was registered for a Jordanian truck driver who had tested positive for COVID-19, a disease caused by the highly contagious coronavirus, at the eastern al-Omary border crossing with Saudi Arabia, the release continued, stating that 11 patients recovered.

Health authorities and tracing teams conducted 5,746 COVID-19 tests today as the total number of tests undertaken since the beginning of the outbreak reaches 471,801.

Health officials at the Ministry highlighted that COVID-19 is still with us despite the low infection rate, urging everyone to commit to the health measures and social distancing measures. They emphasized the importance of using the "Aman" app that will alert people of possible contact with infected people.
