AMMONNEWS - The Irbid Epidemiological Committee has submitted a recommendation to the COVID-19 Crisis Executive Committee to lift the quarantine placed on two buildings and a house in the governorate.

Director of the Irbid Health Affairs Department, Qassim Mayas, told the Jordan News Agency (Petra) that more than two weeks have passed since the isolation of these buildings after three people tested positive for the virus, adding that the samples that were collected from contacts of those infected have come back negative for the second time in a row.

Mayas pointed out that, overall, 11,400 samples have been collected since the beginning of crisis last March, with a total of 130 infections; of those 116 have recovered, while 14 cases, who are in good condition, remain in the isolation ward at the King Abdullah University Hospital.

He assured that the epidemiological situation in Irbid is "under control" as a result of tireless efforts exerted by the epidemiological investigation teams and security agencies.
