Planning minister participates in World Bank meetings

Ammon News - AMMONNEWS - Minister of Planning and International Cooperation Wisam al-Rabadi, the Governor of Jordan at the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD), participates on Friday at the Development Committee meetings on the sidelines of the 2020 Spring Meetings of the International Monetary Fund (IMF) and the World Bank Group (WBG).

Convened via video conference, the meeting which chaired by President of the World Bank Group David Malpass from Washington D.C, discusses the WBG Emergency Response to fight the novel coronavirus.

The WBG is deploying up to $160 billion in long-term financial support over the next 15 months – with an emphasis on policy-based financing and protecting the poorest households.

The Planning Ministry, according to a press statement, is working with donors, and the UN organizations to mobilize support for the Jordanian government to fight the novel Coronavirus.
