22 new Covid-19 cases in Jordan, caseload rises to 345

AMMONNEWS - Health Minister, Dr. Saad Jaber, said 22 new cases of the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) were reported in the Kingdom, bringing the total number of infections to 345.

In a press briefing at the National Center for Security and Crisis Management held Sunday evening, Jaber announced that 36 cases of recovery were recorded, as follows: 29 cases from the King Abdullah University Hospital (KAUH), and 7 cases from Prince Hamzah Hospital, including two French and one Iraqi nationals.

The Health Minister explained details of the new cases of the virus, which were distributed as follows: a case that was in contact with a Lebanese citizen, two Iraqis that were in contact with their infected daughter, and a case that was in contact with the infected father, bringing the total reported cases from this family to 8, in addition to a case that was in contact with her brother's infected wife, a case that was in contact with two infected cases in a company and 7 cases from the building in the Al Hashemi Al Shamali area in Amman, bringing the total reported cases from this building to 28, as well as a case for a mother who were in contact with her infected son in the Prince Hamzah Hospital, a case from a private hospital in Amman, the cause of the infection is being investigated, and 7 cases from one family who had been infected by their previously infected father.

Jaber pointed out that the Health Ministry will start conducting random tests in the southern governorates, to ensure the epidemiological situation in the Kingdom, indicating that it is part of a broad investigation process in all governorates to take random samples.

Teams will be conducting between 300 to 400 coronavirus tests in each governorate randomly, on uninfected people, in order to know the general situation in the Kingdom without symptoms appearing on people, calling on citizens not to worry.
