Ammon News - AMMONNEWS - Authorities on Monday began discharging the first batch of around 5,000 people quarantined at hotel facilities in the capital Amman and the Dead Sea region following a mandatory two-week quarantine amid the COVID-19 crisis.

According to a government’s plan, 3337 people are now being transported to their homes across the nation by ride-hailing service providers and will be required to start a 14-day household-isolation.

Among those quarantined were Their Royal Highnesses Prince Hussein and Prince Muhammad, sons of His Highness Prince Talal bin Mohammed. All of those quarantined two weeks ago came from abroad and were immediately taken to the designated facilities. Several of them have tested positive for COVID-19 and are receiving treatment at hospitals.

The COVID-19 Crisis Management Group Operation, in coordination with relevant authorities, prepared a comprehensive two-phase evacuation plan for people quarantined.

The first phase, which is already underway now, includes all Jordanians quarantined in Amman and the Dead Sea will be transported to their homes. The second phase will start on Tuesday to evacuate all non-Jordanian nationalities in accordance with their embassies and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates.
