Health minister examines medical tourism services

Ammon News - AMMONNEWS - Minister of Health, Saad Jaber, Monday, examined different aspects of medical tourism for those seeking medical treatment in well-reputed hospitals of Jordan.

In a meeting held to discuss medical tourism, Jaber, who chaired the meeting, said that the Ministry of Health (MOH) provides medical tourism services via the Medical Tourism Department and the Medical Tourism Office at Queen Alia International Airport through awareness for all medical tourists.

He highlighted the importance of concerted effort of all the concerned authorities, chief of which are the Ministry of Tourism and the Ministry of Interior, the Private Hospitals Association and the King Hussein Cancer Center.

Minister of Tourism, Majd Shweikeh, outlined the participatory role of the different authorities and their work on the ground by studying providing platforms to draw clear marketing policies for the tourism and medical environment in Jordan and ways to implement and follow them directly with patients in private hospitals, and to use a special system to classify private hospitals and to provide credibility and transparency.
