Ammon News - AMMONNEWS - The Central Bank of Jordan (CBJ) warned against trading in or promoting cryptocurrencies through social networking sites.

"The trend of promoting the trade of cryptocurrencies, such as Dagcoin, through social media has been recently observed," the central bank said in a statement on Tuesday.

The CBJ called on the public not to trade in such currencies due to the high risk involved, including the volatility of their value, financial crimes, piracy, and the risk of loss of value, in addition to other legal risks.

According to valid Jordanian legislation and regulations, cryptocurrencies are not classified as money or private funds or property, the statement added.
