PHA calls for Gov't assistance to collect Libyan debts

Ammon News - AMMONNEWS - President of the Private Hospitals Association (PHA), Fawzi Hammouri, on Monday called on the government to assist the association over outstanding dues owed by the Libyan government to private hospitals.

The file of Libyan debts owed to private hospitals hasn't seen any progress due to the Libyan government's failure to commit to the agreement signed with the Jordanian government in December 2018, Hammouri said in a statement.

He added that the private hospitals sector is suffering further pressures and hardships that threaten its business due to the failure of repaying debts, amounting $220 million, owed by the Libyan government.

The PHA is still considering the possibility of resorting to the judiciary system to attain private hospitals' rights, which was recognized by the Libyan government after being verified by an accredited audit company.
