Ministry of Education: amended scholastic calendar to compensate students

Ammon News - AMMONNEWS - The Central Planning Committee of the Ministry of Education (MoE) approved the amended scholastic calendar for public schools for the academic year 2019/2020 as follows:
1. Teaching starts in the first term as of Sunday, 10/10/2019.
2. Final tests for the first term will start from Wednesday, 22/1/2020 to Saturday, 2/2/2020.
3. Winter break starts from Sunday, 9/2/2020 to Thursday, 02/202020.
4. Teaching starts in the second term as of Sunday, 16/2/2020.
5. Final tests for the second term will start from Thursday, 4/6/2020 to Monday, 22/6/2020.
6. Finalizing school results and certificates will be on Tuesday, 30/6/2020.
7. Summer break starts on Wednesday, 1/7/2020.

The ministry determined the actual study days as per article 40 of the Education Law No. 3 of 1994, which stipulates that the actual study days during the school year range from 195-200 days.

Details of the amended scholastic calendar to make up for missed classes will be circulated to all education directorates.
