AMMONNEWS - The Jordan Phosphate Mines Company (JPMC) announced on Saturday no injuries were reported in a sudden leakage of phosphoric acid on Saturday morning from one of the company's tanks in the industrial complex in Aqaba.

The company said in a press statement that its technical teams dealt with the leakage from the tank, which was recently updated and maintained.

It added that a technical committee was set up to determine the causes of acid leakage to avoid this in the future.

The company explained that it had previously decided as part of its modernization plan to build additional tanks for phosphoric acid in the industrial complex after coordination with the Civil Defense Department, the Aqaba Special Economic Zone Authority, the Aqaba Development Corporation and other concerned parties regarding the construction site of these tanks.
