AMMONNEWS - Hot weather is expected to prevail Tuesday across many parts of the Kingdom, as a heatwave will bring daytime temperatures reach 33 degrees Celsius in Amman and the northern cities, 27 in the southern parts and soaring to 40 in the port city of Aqaba, the Jordan Meteorological Department (JMD) said.

At night mercury levels are forecast to drop to their twenties across the country with northwesterly moderate winds, according to the JMD .

A hot and dry air mass will start affecting the country on Wednesday, pushing temperatures 5-7 degrees above their annual average and bringing hot conditions across many parts of the Kingdom.

Clouds at high altitudes with northwesterly moderate winds picking up at times are also expected, the JMD added.

Temperatures will further rise on Thursday, bringing hot conditions in most regions and very hot in the Jordan Valley, the Dead Sea and Aqaba.
