Hot air mass forecast to subside over weekend

Ammon News - AMMONNEWS - The heatwave that brought hot and dry conditions and affected the Kingdom over the past few days will start to subside on Thursday, pushing temperatures down and creating relatively hot conditions in the hilly areas and the plains, while it will remain hot in other parts of the country.

According to the Jordan Meteorological Department (JMD) daily brief, clouds at high altitudes are also expected with northwesterly moderate to brisk winds, the JMD added.

Daytime temperatures expected for today will hover around 33 degrees Celsius in Amman and in the northern cities, dropping down to 19 at night. The weather will be hotter in the port city of Aqaba with highs jumping to 40 degrees and lows sliding to 23 at night, the JMD added further.

Similar weather conditions will continue to prevail on Friday with southwesterly to northwesterly moderate to brisk winds, blowing dust in the desert areas, the department noted.

A tangible in mercury levels is expected on Saturday, becoming around their annual average and creating moderate conditions in the hilly areas and the plains, while it will be relatively hot in other parts of the country with northwesterly moderate winds, the JMD further said.
