AMMONNEWS - Board of Directors of the Amman Chamber of Commerce (ACC) expressed its aspirations to establish Chinese investments in Jordan benefiting from the various trade agreements signed by the Kingdom with various international economic blocs.

During their meeting on Sunday with Chinese Minister of State Administration for Market Regulation (SAMR), Zhang Mao, the board called on Chinese companies to invest in Jordan and open factories in Aqaba and industrial and development cities.

The board also noted the Chinese trade initiatives worldwide should play a role in promoting economic and trade relations between the two friendly countries.

The head of the ACC, Khalil al-Haj Tawfiq, praised the strong bilateral relations that bond Jordan with China at various levels, noting the volume of trade exchange between the two countries reached last year about JD1.2 billion, making Beijing the second largest trading partner of Jordan.

Tawfiq expressed hope to increase the number of Chinese investors in the Kingdom and activate the agreements and memorandums of understanding signed between the ACC and Chinese commerce chambers and various Chinese trading bodies.
