Inflation up by 0.7 percent in first quarter of 2019

Ammon News - AMMONNEWS - Consumer Price Average (Inflation) rose by 0.7 percent during the first quarter of 2019, compared to the same period in 2018, according to the Department of Statistics (DoS).

The main commodity groups, which contributed to this increase, were Vegetables, dried and canned legumes (0.56 percent), cereals and its products by (0.39 percent), rents ( 0.32 percent), education (0.31 ) in addition to fuel and lighting (0.09), the DoS said.

The most main commodity groups the prices of which declined were meat and poultry (0.50 percent), transport (0.16 percent), dairy products and eggs (0.11 percent) and fruits and nuts by (0.07 percent).
