House Speaker, Senate President condemn New Zealand mosques attack

Ammon News - AMMONNEWS - Senate President Faisal al-Fayez Friday condemned as "repugnant crime" an attack on Muslim worshipers in the New Zealand city of Christchurch, which left around 40 people killed and others injured.

Jordan, he said, has always warned of the dangers of terrorism and extremism and has been at the forefront of countries combatting terror. He also urged for putting forward a strategy to counter the forces of extremism through the dissemination of enlightened thinking.

Speaker of the Lower House of Parliament also denounced the "heinous crime" that proved Islam is terrorism's main victim. He said the attack has brought pain upon us, condoling the families of the victims and wishing those injured a speedy recovery.
