Police officer killed in Blaqa blast laid to rest

Ammon News - AMMONNEWS - A police officer who was killed yesterday in the line of duty in the Blaqa blast incident was laid to rest Friday in his hometown Mahis.

First Lieutenant Ahmed Mahmoud Jaloudi of the Public Security Department received a military funeral, which was attended by the Interior Minister Sameer Mubaideen, Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Lt. Gen. Mahmoud Freihat, and heads of security agencies, senior officers and local mourners.

On Thursday, an explosion was reported in the Wadi al Azraq area, and security forces were called to the scene to deal with the blast that killed one citizen.

Another blast took place as officers were examining the site, claiming the lives of First Lieutenant Jaloudi and First Sergeant Musab Nazih Ottoum of the General Intelligence Directorate.

Eight security service members were also wounded in the explosion.
