House passes draft law amending Deposit Insurance Corporation's law

Ammon News - AMMONNEWS - A Lower House of Parliament's session, chaired by Lower House Speaker, Atef Tarawneh, approved Tuesday a draft law amending the Deposit Insurance Corporation's law.

The draft law covers Islamic banks under deposits insurance and in accordance with the provisions of the Islamic Sharia in order to protect all depositors in the Kingdom's banks and to give the corporation a role in dealing with the situation of troubled banks in line with the amendments to the Banking Law, in addition to enhancing confidence in the banking system by paying the amount of security owed to the applicant without the conditions of submitting his claim.
