67 cases of AIDS among expatriates in 2018

Ammon News - AMMONNEWS - The Jordanian Ministry of Health has recorded 67 cases of AIDS among expatriates in the first 11 months of the year 2018, in which 25 cases were of Ugandan nationality and 10 were Egyptian.

Head of the Department of Chest Diseases and Expatriate Health, Dr. Ibrahim Badwan, said that the upgraded preventive measures and procedures developed in the department has led to the discovery of 67 cases of AIDS, in addition to 199 cases of tuberculosis and 25 cases of pulmonary tuberculosis among expatriates.

The department has also recorded 63 cases of Hepatitis A in 15 Ugandan nationalities and 14 from the Philippine.

Dr. Badwan pointed out during a press statement that all cases were recorded in the department and affiliated centers around the Kingdom, which is part of the routine examinations made in order to complete residency procedures of 333,494 expatriate applicants.
