Lower House continues budget debate

Ammon News - AMMONNEWS - The Lower House of Parliament has resumed discussing the two bills of the 2019 state budget and the budget the budgets of independent public institutions at its session held on Thursday morning chaired by Speaker Atef Tarawneh.

Lawmakers who took to the podium called on the government to increase the salaries and pensions of military and civil retirees, to expand the umbrella of the general pardon, and to handle tax evasion effectively.

Some MPs also called for improving domestic infrastructure services, supporting the agricultural sector, combating corruption, as well as enhancing cooperation with Syria and Iraq.
Other lawmakers urged to extend further support to the Palestinian cause, and to help Iraq fight terrorism.
