Ammon News - AMMONNEWS - The assailant of a retired general was arrested and ordered remanded in custody by the Zarqa prosecutor on charges of attempted murder and theft, according to the Public Security Department (PSD).

PSD spokesperson, Col. Amer Sartawi, said police received information last week that retired Maj. Gen. Mohammed Bashir al-Shishani was attacked and beaten in his home by an unidentified person, and was admitted to hospital for treatment.

He said that police had assigned a special team of investigation to gather information about the incident, and had identified and arrested a person with a criminal record, who confessed that he entered the house to steal, assaulted the general and fled the scene.
