PM holds talks in Turkey

AMMONNEWS - Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, on Tuesday, received at the presidential palace in Ankara Prime minister Omar Razzaz, who conveyed His Majesty King Abdullah II's greetings and wishes to the president and the Turkish people for progress and prosperity.

Economy and trade were figured high during the meeting that was attended by senior officials from both countries.

Razzaz reviewed economic challenges facing the Kingdom and his government's keenness to promote national exports.

The prime minister thanked Turkey for its cooperation that led to extradition of the primary suspect in the so-called "tobacco case" Awni Mutee.

Establishing a sovereign Palestinian state with East Jerusalem as its capital, safeguarding Islamic and Christian holy sites in Jerusalem and supporting the Palestinians to gain their legitimates rights were discussed during the talks.

Razzaz also held talks with Turkish Vice President Fuat Oktay, where bilateral ties and ways to further boost them were also discussed between the two officials.

Meanwhile, a number of ministers also held talks with their Turkish counterparts, including foreign minister, justice minister and trade minister.

Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates, Ayman Safadi and his Turkish counterpart Mevlut Cavusoglu discussed a wide range of issues including the Palestinian cause, the war against terrorism and the Syrian crisis.

The two diplomats stressed the need to coordinate in order to defeat terrorism on the military, security and intellectual fronts.
