Industry minister, Turkish VP discuss economic cooperation

Ammon News - AMMONNEWS - Minister of Industry, Trade and Supply Tariq Hammouri has met with Turkish and Arab officials on the sidelines of the 34th session of the Standing Committee for Economic and Commercial Cooperation of the Organization of the Islamic Cooperation (COMCEC) in Istanbul.

Hammouri discussed with Turkish Vice President Fuat Oktay focusing on the strong strategic and political relations between the two countries and in particular they discussed the Kingdom's decision to end a free trade pact with Turkey.

Al-Hamouri also held a meeting with Saudi Minister of Commerce and Investment in Saudi Arabia, Dr. Majid Al-Qasabi for a discussion on ways to cement economic cooperation between the two countries.

They also discussed some of the difficulties facing trade exchange between the two countries in specific cases. In this context, the Saudi minister invited a Jordanian team to visit Saudi Arabia to discuss these difficulties and reach practical solutions to them.

Hammouri has also held similar meetings with his Iraqi and Qatari counterparts.
