Jordan following up on Iran's nuclear issue developments

Ammon News - AMMONNEWS - Jordan is following up on the latest developments pertaining to Iran's nuclear program following the U.S.'s exit from the deal Iran reached with world powers in 2015, State Minister for Media Affairs Muhammad Momani said Wednesday.

Momani renewed Jordan's firm support to all international efforts and initiatives aimed at ending the proliferation of nuclear weapons and weapons of mass destruction in the Middle East and the world at large, especially efforts exerted by the United States in this regard.

He stressed that the establishment of security and stability in the region and the world is of paramount importance to all regional and international parties. He also underlined the need to take the necessary steps to achieve this goal to ensure Iran's compliance with international law, stop the proliferation of weapons of mass destruction and adhere to good neighborliness principles.

The minister emphasized that Iran should respond to the calls for negotiations made by the U.S. president, to maintain dialogue and to cooperate with all parties to arrive at a nuke-free Middle East and prevent the proliferation of nuclear weapons and any possible arms race in the region.

In this context, the minister renewed Jordan's support to establish nuke-free regions across the world, particularly in the Middle East.

Momani referred to Jordan's non-stop support for efforts designed to boost global cooperation and relations based on mutual respect and the non-interference in the internal affairs of any country. He also voiced the Kingdom's support for programs and policies that would bring about regional prosperity, development and peace.

He said regional peace and stability in the region and the world cannot be achieved if nuclear weapons and weapons of mass destruction continue to exist.
