Drop in temperatures expected for next two days

Ammon News - AMMONNEWS - A in mercury levels is expected on Monday, becoming around their annual average. Therefore, pleasant spring weather conditions will prevail in the hilly areas, while it will be warm in the Badia regions, Jordan Valley and Aqaba .

According to the Jordan Meteorological Department (JMD), local showers are also expected in many parts of the country, accompanied with thunder mainly in the eastern regions, while winds will be northwesterly moderate to brisk, blowing dust at times in the southern and eastern areas.

Temperatures forecast for today in Amman will reach 20 degrees Celsius, hovering around 17 degrees in the northern and southern cities, and dropping down to 9, 8 and 5 respectively. The weather will be warmer in the port city of Aqaba with highs reaching 28 and lows standing at 16, the JMD added.

Mercury levels will further on Tuesday, creating relatively cold conditions in the hilly areas and moderate in the Jordan Valley, the Dead Sea and Aqaba with clouds at various altitudes. Rainfall is also forecast in many areas, accompanied with thunder and lightning at times, while winds will be northwesterly moderate to brisk, the JMD noted.

On Wednesday, temperatures will rise few degrees, becoming around their seasonal average and bringing pleasant weather in the mountainous areas, while it will be warm in other regions . Clouds at various attitudes will also appear with a chance for showers, especially in the northern and central parts of the country, the JMD further said.
