Interior minister authorizes heads of diplomatic missions to grant visas to patients

Ammon News - AMMONNEWS - Minister of Interior Samir Al-Mubaideen decided in a letter to Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates Ayman Safadi, to authorize heads of Jordanian diplomatic missions abroad to grant entry visas to patients from Sudan, Libya, Yemen, Iraq, Syria, Chad for medical treatment in the Kingdom.

According to the decision, the visa will be granted to patients and their chaperones as well as minor children, provided that the number of chaperones does not exceed four persons of the patient's first degree relatives

The visa will also be granted within 48 hours after reviewing the patient's medical reports.

The decision aims to encourage medical tourism in Jordan, deemed important for the national economy, and facilitate entry procedures for patients of restricted nationalities and their chaperones to the Kingdom for medical treatment.

The decision also comes in implementation of regulations governing the entry of patients for medical treatment in the Kingdom, which was recently approved by the Cabinet and in accordance with the provisions of Article 39 of the Residence and Foreigners Affairs Law No. 24 of 1973 and its amendments.
