Jordan's King holds talks in New Delhi to boost ties

Ammon News - AMMONNEWS - Expanding bilateral cooperation in all fields has been the focus of talks Jordan's King Abdullah II and Indian External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj held in New Delhi Wedmesday.

The two sides discussed a number of issues of mutual concern, External Affairs Ministry spokesperson Raveesh Kumar said in statement on his official twitter account.

King Abdullah II arrived here yesterday evening on a three-day official visit accompanied by a high level delegation, including business magnets and government officials.

Talks addressed "strengthening ties across all sectors, specially in trade and investment, defense and security, tourism and people-to-people exchanges," Kumar said.

India's Prime Minister Narendra Modi had received the Jordanian Monarch on arrival Tuesday. They are scheduled to hold bilateral talks Thursday.

Earlier this month, King Abdullah II hosted Modi and facilitated his transit to Palestine.

Today, the King visited the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) in New Delhi.

He also took part in a business round-table, and a meeting India-Jordan Business Forum.

King Abdullah will meet with Indian President Ram Nath Kovind, as both sides are expected to sign and exchange a number of pacts to expand ties in the areas of trade, investment, technology and tourism.
