King visits Gendarmerie's Special Police Command

Ammon News - AMMONNEWS - His Majesty King Abdullah II, the Supreme Commander of the Jordan Armed Forces, on Monday visited the Special Police Operations Command affiliated with the Gendarmerie Department, where he was welcomed by General Directorate of Gendarmerie Director Maj. Gen. Hussein Hawatmeh and commander of the special police.

During the visit, the King met with directors and heads of security agencies' delegations taking part in the meeting of the association of European and Mediterranean gendarmeries and police forces with military status (FIEP) which is hosted by Jordan during October 15-18.

His Majesty highlighted the importance of enhancing partnership among security and military agencies in the world and unify international efforts to combat terrorism, extremism and crimes.

Major General Hawatmeh, presented a briefing about major accomplishments that have been achieved by the association during Jordan's presidency, as well as the FIEP's future plans that aim at enhancing cooperation and coordination among the association's members.

His Majesty also listened to a briefing on strategies and programs of the Gendarmerie Directorate that contribute to boosting its organizational and operational capabilities, as well as mechanisms of cooperation and coordination it adopts at the local and international levels to carry out its national role in an effective and professional manner.

Directors and heads of the security agencies praised efforts of His Majesty to enhance security and stability in the region and world.
