AMMONNEWS - His Majesty King Abdullah II, on Sunday, visited al-Masharie town in northern Jordan Valley and checked firsthand on services provided to citizens.

His Majesty ordered a number of public projects to be implemented as soon as possible including the establishment of a development center for care and rehabilitation in line with best standards to people with disabilities and the construction of 16 housing units for underprivileged families.

His Majesty urged concerned authorities to put in place a holistic plan for the town, where finding solutions to challenges facing its citizens and achieving sustainable development should be the top priorities for authorities in collaboration with the newly elected governorate councils and local communities.

Al-Masharie, 96 km north of Amman, is suffering from high rates of poverty and unemployment, in addition to disabilities cases due to health and genetic reasons.

His Majesty was accompanied by the Royal Court chief, the director of the King's Office, the Secretary General of the Royal Court, the minister of social development and the governor of Irbid.
