King meets prime ministers of Pakistan, Italy

Ammon News - AMMONNEWS - His Majesty King Abdullah II on Tuesday met with Pakistan's Prime Minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi on the sidelines of the 72nd session of the United Nations General Assembly.

The meeting focused on ways to cement economic and military ties between the two countries and the importance of intensifying cooperation and coordination in the war on terror within a holistic strategy.

The King also held a meeting with Italian Prime Minister Paolo Gentiloni, during which they discussed means to boost economic cooperation between Jordan and Italy. They also tackled burdens being borne by Jordan because of the Syrian refugee crisis.

The King and the Italian prime minister stressed the need to intensify international cooperation and coordination to combat terrorism through all military, security and intellectual means.

The Italian Prime Minister expressed his country's appreciation for Jordan's pivotal role under the leadership of His Majesty the King in fighting terrorism and hosting Syrian refugees.
