Ammon News - AMMONNEWS - Flights resumed Monday morning at the King Hussein International Airport (KHIA) in the southern governorate of Aqaba after removing the plane which veered off the runway while landing yesterday, according to the airport’s manager, Bashar Abu Rumman.

The airport is now operating as normal and in accordance with the aviation safety and security standards, Abu Rumman said.

The Civil Aviation Regulatory Commission Sunday decided to suspend all KHIA-bound flights to ensure safety measures taken in the airport and allow authorities in Aqaba to investigate the incident, said Abu Rumman. A Royal Wings plane had veered off-course on Sunday morning, leading to the airport’s closure to remove the plane off the runway. No injuries were reported following the incident.
