Jordanian student of Osmania University caught smuggling gold

Ammon News - AMMONNEWS - A Jordan national pursuing post graduation in Osmania University was caught smuggling gold from Dubai via air. The passenger had concealed gold bars in his blazer pocket and tried to smuggle them. Officials seized four gold bars worth over Rs 12 lakh weighing 400 grams.

According to officials, the suspect identified as" S " hailing from Jordan, had arrived at Rajiv Gandhi International Airport at Shamshabad on Sunday morning from Amman via Dubai in an Emirates flight. While he was about to leave through the exit gate, the air intelligence team intercepted him for questioning. He initially pleaded innocence. On thorough inquiry, he admitted to smuggling gold.

He had concealed gold bars of 24 carat with 99.9 percent purity in the front pockets of his blazer.
