AMMONNEWS - A slight rise in temperatures is expected on Wednesday as the Kingdom remains under the impact of the heatwave, bringing hot conditions across much areas of the country and pushing mercury levels 5-6 degrees above their annual average.

According to the Jordan Meteorological Department (JMD), daytime temperatures expected for today in Amman and the northern areas will reach 36 degrees Celsius, while in the Gulf of Aqaba they will jump to 43. At night, mercury levels will cool down reaching 25 degrees in the capital and dropping to 31 in Aqaba.

Temperatures will slightly drop on Thursday, but they will remain 3-4 degrees above their seasonal average. Therefore, relatively hot weather is forecast in Amman and the hilly areas, while it will be hot in the other regions, the JMD said.

Similar weather conditions will continue to prevail on Friday with northwesterly moderate winds, the department added.
