King attends Independence Day celebration, honours achievers

Ammon News - AMMONNEWS - His Majesty King Abdullah II attended here on Thursday an official celebration marking the Kingdom's 71st Independence Day.

Present at the ceremony was also Her Majesty Queen Rania Al Abdullah.

Upon the King’s arrival at Raghadan Palace where the celebration was held, he was officially received with a 21-gun salute and the national anthem was played.

The King watched a documentary titled "The Independence Story", which highlighted the milestones in the march of the Kingdom, since its establishment until modern day.

The King bestowed Royal medals on national institutions and a number of pioneers in various sectors, in appreciation of their efforts in building the country and enhancing its progress.

The King Abdullah II School for Excellence-Irbid received the Order of Al Istiqlal (Independence) of the First Degree, while Edraak, an initiative of the Queen Rania Foundation received the Order of Al Istiqlal (Independence) of the First Degree. Dozan wa Awtar choir received the King Abdullah II ibn Al Hussein Order for Distinction of the First Degree and Ahmad Alhendawi received King Abdullah II ibn Al Hussein Order for Distinction of the Second Degree. Further, Khaled Awad Shueibat (posthumously) received the King Abdullah II ibn Al Hussein Order for Distinction of the Third Degree, and Nasser Saleh received the King Abdullah II ibn Al Hussein Order for Distinction of the Third Degree.

Al Qantara Centre for Human Resources Development in Maan received the King Abdullah II ibn Al Hussein Order for Distinction of the Third Degree, and Sadeem Qdaisat received the King Abdullah II ibn Al Hussein Order for Distinction of the Third Degree. Also, Suhail Baqaeen received the King Abdullah II ibn Al Hussein Order for Distinction of the Third Degree and Sanaa Qadahat received the King Abdullah II ibn Al Hussein Order for Distinction of the Third Degree. Moreover, Nour Khrais received the King Abdullah II ibn Al Hussein Order for Distinction of the Third Degree and Abdelrahman Zghoul received the King Abdullah II ibn Al Hussein Order for Distinction of the Third Degree. Sandra Kawar received the King Abdullah II ibn Al Hussein Order for Distinction of the Third Degree and Moayad Awad received the King Abdullah II ibn Al Hussein Order for Distinction of the Third Degree.

Moreover, Jude Mbaideen received the King Abdullah II ibn Al Hussein Medal of Merit (Gold) and Emanne Beasha received the King Abdullah II ibn Al Hussein Medal of Merit (Gold).

Thursday's ceremony was attended by Royal Family members, senior officials and officers and others.
