Ammon News - AMMONNEWS - Minister of State for Media Affairs, Mohammed Momani said that hosting the World Economic Forum on the Middle East and North Africa in its ninth edition in Jordan is crucial to address potential opportunities in the economy and other issues of interest to Jordan and the region .

Momani, who is also the Government Spokesperson added in the weekly program "News and Dialogue", that is broadcast by Jordan Television and Radio Jordan early Thursday that more than 1,000 business and political leaders and representatives from civil society, international organizations, youth and the media from over 50 countries will participate in the meeting.

With regards to the Iraqi technical delegation visiting the country to draw up the route of the Jordanian-Iraqi oil pipeline, Momani explained that that the delegation Wednesday met with the Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources, Ibrahim Seif and discussed issues of mutual concern.

The pipeline, which starts in Basra in southern Iraq and ends in Aqaba, 330km south of Amman, is approaching the implementation phase, he added.

Another meeting will be held with the participation of the Iraqi Oil minister, who is accompanying the Iraqi President , Fouad Masoum during his visit to the Kingdom to participate in the World Economic forum, slated for May 19-21 at the Dead Sea.

All details related to the discussions on the issue have come a long way and are approaching the implementation phase, Momani said, adding that both countries will benefit from boosting relations in energy sector .
