King of Bahrain arrives in Jordan for Arab summit

Ammon News - AMMONNEWS - HRH Prince Hamzah Bin al-Hussein on Wednesday received King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa of Bahrain, who is leading his country's delegation to the Arab Summit, which will started today at the shores of the Dead Sea.

Upon arrival at Queen Alia International Airport, the Bahraini King was also received by a number of senior civil and military officials. His Majesty King Hamad stressed the deep historic and distinguished relations between Jordan and Bahrain.

He also thanked His Majesty King Abdullah II for his invitations to the leaders of the Arab countries to participate in the Arab League Council meeting at the summit level to exchange views and consultations on all issues related to the present and future of the Arab nation and its people.

"Our region has been undergoing developments and challenges that affect the security and safety of our countries. This makes our summit today a necessity, and places a huge responsibility on our meeting today, to unify our stances, and address the challenges in a holistic strategy," the King said.

Such strategy, he added, must serve our interests and support our efforts to improve the situation in the Middle East and address crises for the good to prevail in all the region's countries.

The meeting of the Arab leaders is an important opportunity to decide our fate and future according to our will and away from any imposed plans or foreign interventions that might affect us," King Hamad said.

He expressed confidence that the wisdom of His Majesty King Abdullah II and the determination of the Arab leaders will lead to decisions that will address various aspects of cooperation and contribute effectively to advancing the joint Arab action in order to realize the aspirations and hopes of all Arab peoples, and achieve peace and security in the region.
