King, OIC head discuss Arab summit agenda

Ammon News - AMMONNEWS - His Majesty King Abdullah II, on Tuesday discussed with Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) Secretary-General, Yousef bin Ahmad Al-Othaimeen, the current situation in the region.

The meeting addressed the key issues on the agenda of the Arab summit, which will convene in Jordan tomorrow, underling the need to reinvigorate and institutionalize joint Arab action, in order to serve issues of the Arab and Islamic nation.

His Majesty emphasized the importance of the OIC's role in promoting solidarity and cooperation among Islamic countries and defending their just causes.

The head of the pan-Islamic organisation expressed appreciation for the King's efforts at international forums to portray the true message of Islam, spread the values of tolerance and moderation, build bridges and promote dialogue and understanding among the followers of the different faiths.
