Ammon News - AMMONNEWS - Jordanian Minister of Industry and Trade Yaarub AlQudhat said Monday the Arab Summit, due in the Dead Sea later this week, would have a busy economic agenda to further boost inter Arab economic cooperation.

Jordan is looking forward to hosting the Arab summit with the aim of pushing forward economic cooperation
among Arab countries, AlQudhat told KUNA on the occasion of the summit.

He underlined importance of boosting trade among the 22 Arab League member countries and promoting joint
investments to increase trade within the Arab world more than with third countries.

The Arab leaders, said AlQudhat, would be discussing the Arab Grand Free Zone, the Custom Union, investment and economic resolutions of last year's summit that was held in Mauritania.

Economic integration, electricity linkage, railroad network and marine network will also be discussed, he added.

AlQudhat said Jordan was keen on removing all obstacles hindering economic projects, either at the bilateral or multilateral levels.

Permanent representatives to the Arab League will prepare for the Arab Economic and Social Council, which
would be held at a ministerial level.

Foreign Ministers are due to meet today to put final preparations for the March 29 summit.
