PM checks on work of issuing smart IDs for citizens

Ammon News - AMMONNEWS - Prime Minister Hani Mulki on Sunday, made a surprise visit to the Civil Status and Passport Department (CSPD) during which he checked on the progress of issuing smart ID's for citizens.

During a meeting with Director of the CSPD Fawaz Al Shahwan in the presence of Interior Minister Ghalib Al Zou'bi, Mulki stressed the importance of providing services to citizens in an easy and effective manner.

He also hailed efforts of the department and its cadres in all governorates across the Kingdom, especially at these times when the department is working relentlessly to replace the old civil IDs with smart IDs.

The prime minister voiced the government's readiness to continue providing technical and logistical support to the CSPD and remove obstacles facing it work to issue the smart IDs.

The CSPD's director briefed Mulki on progress of work on issuing the smart IDs in all regions of the Kingdom, noting that the department will take all technical and administrative measures to issue the new ID cards for citizens in their places of residence.
