The meeting came to follow up on the implementation of the directives of His Majesty King Abdullah II to the Cabinet two days ago to implement a clear program to stimulate economic growth that meets the needs of various sectors, contributes to achieving targeted growth rates and provides new job opportunities.

The meeting discussed measures, policies as well as necessary plans that will be carried out in the future to support economic sectors in order to achieve growth, improve the business environment as well as the investment climate.

Mulki said that the government works through the economic national reform program to spur economic growth, and take the necessary measures to achieve this objective through partnership with the private sector.

He said that the King's directives to the Cabinet on restructuring government measures and automating them, are meant to achieve administrative reform, curb red tape and address the overstaffing in the public sector. The government, Mulki said, has started to activate the partnership with the private sector through the implementation of infrastructure projects such as the Tafileh Hospital, the new Amman Customs Center in Madouna as well as rehabilitating the King Hussein Bridge.

"During the Parliament's current session, the government will accomplish important economic legislation that will contribute to stimulating economic growth," the prime minister added.
