Ammon News - AMMONNEWS - Jordan will grant Sudanese patients aged fifty and older entry visas upon arrival at the border posts, provided they possess $5,000 or more, Interior Minister Ghaleb Zoubi Sunday said in a statement .

Medical escort visas will also be granted for a maximum of two people, who are accompanying the patient during his stay for medical treatment in the Kingdom, the minister added.

The new medical visa rules come as part of the government's measures to promote medical tourism and remove obstacles facing this strategic sector in the national economy.

Pervious visa procedures for Sudanese people, who are under fifty and seek medical treatment in the Kingdom, will remain valid and could be obtained from the Jordanian embassy in Khartoum, he explained.

Procedures must include a letter from the Sudanese government illustrating the need for the patient to enter the Kingdom only to receive medical treatment and not for any other purpose .
