PM meets with heads of medical associations

Ammon News - AMMONNEWS - Prime Minister Hani al-Mulqi, on Thursday, met with heads of medical professions associations (doctors, dentists, nurses and pharmacists), in the presence of Health Minister, Mahmoud al-Sheyyab and State Minister for Legal Affairs Bishr Khasawneh.

The meeting touched on a draft medical liability bill and accreditation of health institutions and other issues related to the associations.

The best way to amend any drat law is through dialogue with the concerned parliamentary committee, in order to the serve the health sector, said al-Mulqi.

He added that any amendment to the medical liability draft bill should take into consideration all parties' interests, protect the profession and support patients, who might be affected by medical mistakes.

Al-Mulqi said his government has stiffened penalties against those who attack public servants on duty including doctors and nurses.
